Rabbie Mojaddidi joined Garcia & Gurney in 2018. At an early age, Rabbie wanted to become an attorney and had a strong interest in representing businesses. Shortly after his family moved to California from Afghanistan, and after Rabbie was born (in Fremont, CA), his father put their family’s life savings into purchasing a restaurant. It was at that point, Rabbie learned how difficult it can be to own and manage a business here in California – especially when you are a foreigner and know nothing about both federal and California laws. The difficulties his father faced motivated Rabbie to become the attorney he is today.
Rabbie is currently in both Garcia & Gurney’s transactional and litigation group. He advises and represents employers in a range of employment and labor law matters arising under federal and California state laws, including:
- Wage and hour
- Exemption classification issues
- Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
- Administrative charges, including EEOC, California
- DFEH and Labor Commissioner
- Wrongful termination and retaliation
- Leaves of absence
- Workplace safety issues
- Trade secret misappropriation
- Employee benefits
Rabbie has conducted or advised with respect to numerous workplace investigations. Rabbie conducts anti-harassment and other trainings for employers. In addition, Rabbie conducts compliance audits relating to FLSA and California wage and hour practices, employment and human resources procedures, and provides compliance.
While he frequently guides clients to favorable pre-litigation resolutions, Rabbie has broad experience representing employers throughout the stages of litigation and arbitration. He has successfully represented employers before federal and state courts, administrative and arbitral bodies in a range of employment disputes, including wage and hour claims.
Rabbie earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in English and Philosophy from Chapman University. He earned his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law. Mr. Mojaddidi enjoys spending time with his family, lifting weights, and playing basketball. Aside from English, he is fluent in Dari and Farsi.
